About A Perfect Planet
A Perfect Planet is a 2021 five-part earth science series that takes a sobering look at the state of our planet and our prospects for the future. Through compelling animal-led stories and expert interviews, A Perfect Planet examines how weather, ocean currents, the sun and volcanoes have shaped the world that we live in.
About our work in Gabon
Since 2016, Sea Shepherd has been working with the Gabonese government on Operation Albacore; a campaign to patrol and protect Gabon’s 20,000 square mile network of marine protected areas that are a biodiversity hotspot frequented by breeding whales, dolphins, sharks and countless other marine life.
As part of this unique partnership, Sea Shepherd provides a civilian offshore patrol vessel that Gabonese law enforcement agencies utilzie to detect and deter illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing activity while also monitoring legal compliance by licensed fishing operators.
